A few months ago a friend of mine had called me asking if I could come and photograph on the day that her husband was being deployed. Of course I agreed. As the day was getting closer the more I was sad for my friend, not even married a year, who would be without her husband for a year.
The night before he was to be sent off I couldn't really sleep. Mainly because I was thinking about what I would do if I were in that situation. I was also mentally preparing myself because - is it really cool to hire a photographer and have her become a crying fool during the time she's photographing? Well it didn't work. I cried anyway.
Instead of only sharing 5-8 photos I decided to put this one on a video to music so that I could share a lot more. This isn't all of them, but a combination of my favorites. I also decided to only leave a couple colored images because I felt like that black and white told the story better.
Also, the video plays here pretty small so I'd recommending bumping up to 760HD and watching it bigger.
