Since I haven't lived outside of Idaho, I don't know if this applies everywhere (I'm assuming it does). Right before it's about to snow the sky lights up into a beautiful brownish/red haze of clouds. Not only is it red, but it's also super bright even in the latest hours of the night. My husband claims that it's because the light is reflecting back and forth. I'm too lazy to look it up so I believe him. Here's a straight out of the camera shot of a tree with berries on it and the backdrop of the hazy sky taken on Saturday night.
