Best Boise Family Photo Locations

My 5 Favorite boise photo locations any time of year

It’s crazy to think that I’ve lived in Boise for almost 20 years now. It’s been fun to see little baby Boise grow into the city it is today.

With that, I’ve come to love some very specific areas because they are constantly offering variety and consistency every single time.

Military Reserve

This area isn’t for the faint of heart. It will require a little bit of hiking, but once you’re there, the view is worth every step. In the spring, you can see it scattered with beautiful blue flowers, and in the late summer you’ll find some gorgeous yellow black-eyed susans. Best of all, it has an expansive view of the valley

Lower Hulls Gulch Reserve

I could probably shoot at this location all year round. In the spring it offers some beautiful lush green fields. In the summer, the trees are full of green leaves and the fields have a touch of gold. In the fall, the variety of color is one out of a postcard.

Jack’s Urban Meeting Place

If you’re not into the nature scene, JUMP offers some great options for an urban look without the chaos of worrying about traffic. I love this location for families with really young kids because we can let them run free, as the property is pretty large and protected from the street. There is easy garage parking and easy access to bathrooms.

Anne Frank Memorial

I love this location because it’s next to the library and has some easy parking for families. This location as a blend of architecture and nature. It’s also located near the historical 9th street bridge that is beautiful to photograph any time of year

Kathryn Albertons Park

If you’ve lived in Boise for any span of time, you know about this park. It’s quintessential Boise, but it is a great option for larger families, winter shoots, or families where mobility can be an issue. It has flowers blooming almost any time of year, has bathrooms, and is
really well-maintained.
